The California Opportunity Youth Apprenticeship (COYA) Grant aims to increase access to pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs for opportunity youth aged 16-24 who face barriers to employment. This program offers financial support and hands-on training opportunities, helping to bridge the gap between education and careers in public safety. Our Fire Academy has partnered with CAL-JAC to support a pre-apprenticeship program for our cadets.
Students who meet the requirements for the COYA grant can receive up to $6,000 in an educational stipend.
