We provide free tutoring to SDCCD students.  We are here to help you develop the skills needed to succeed in your academic journey.  We look forward to working with you soon!

We offer free in-person tutoring: 

  1. Academic Success Center, Room L-101
    1. Contact:  (619) 388-7852
    2. Dates of Operation:  June 17th to August 8th, Monday through Thursday
    3. Hours of Operation:  9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
    4. ATTENTION:  Closed on Fridays and weekends
    5. There are study rooms and tables for individual or group use.  There are tables, chairs, and dry erase boards and markers in the study rooms.  You can access anatomy models, microscopes, and textbooks.  You can use these resources on a drop-in basis.  There is also a pay-for-print service for copies.

  2. Math Support, in the Math Lab, Room M-210

    3. Hours of Operation:  11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    4. ATTENTION:  Closed on Fridays and weekends

    3. Hours of Operation:  11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
    4. ATTENTION:  Closed on Fridays and weekends
    5. Writing support is provided on a drop-in basis.  The tutor availability is on myWCOnline.

 

NetTutor offers one-on-one, online meeting, paper drop-off, and question drop-off.  NetTutor is available during all summer sessions without any subject restrictions.  NetTutor is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  ATTENTION:  Check the daily schedule of each subject.

Click here (or this link https://sdccd.instructure.com/enroll/MEAEEJ ) to get started in using NetTutor.  You will be taken to a new page titled "Enroll in Miramar Tutoring".  Click the "Enroll in Course" button on the right-hand side.  Then, you will be on the front page of the Miramar Tutoring Canvas course.  Click the "NetTutor" link on the left-hand side menu to access both NetTutor.

 
 

 

The assignment drop-off service will be available from 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. 

When you are using this service, make sure to fill out the required quiz.  Provide all the information about your prompt and if it is doable, attach your instructor's directions for your paper.

After submitting a paper, you should expect feedback in 48 hours (turnaround time).  Please note that the 48 hours are during our hours of tutoring operation (11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday, excluding Friday and the weekend).  The 48-hour turnaround time does not include the weekend.  A paper submitted on Thursday at noon should be returned to you at noon the following Tuesday.

For instructors, you are welcome to hold your office/student hours at the ASC.  Please e-mail your request to Donnie (dtran@sdccd.edu).

E-mail a completed application and college transcript(s) to Donnie Tran at dtran@sdccd.edu .  Your transcript(s) must show a letter grade of B or higher in the courses you are interested in tutoring in.

Please do not attach additional attachments.  Documents such as letters of recommendation and resumes are not reviewed.

Must have successfully taken ED 100 or its equivalence before applying.  You cannot start work until you have ED 100 completed.


Here is what our screening/hiring process entails:
Step 1) Screen applications. Contact reference.
Step 2) Invite qualified applicants for an interview.
Step 3) Offer tutoring position to the successful applicant.
Step 4) Initiate SDCCD new hire paperwork.  Among the tasks, the successful applicant needs to get done fingerprinting and TB test and submit on the HR Web site a district's tutor application.
