All subjects are unblocked on NetTutor.
We are open on weekdays, from February 3, 2025, to June 2, 2025 (excluding holidays).
We are at four locations on the San Diego Miramar College campus: ASC (Room L-101), Math Lab (Room M-210), STEM Center (Room S6-110), and Writing Lab (Room H-103).
We are also online: NetTutor and STAR-CA.
We provide free tutoring to SDCCD students. We are here to help you develop the skills needed to succeed in your academic journey. We look forward to working with you soon!

We offer free in-person tutoring:

- ATTENTION: Closed on the weekends
- There are study rooms and tables for individual or group use. There are tables, chairs, and dry erase boards and markers in the study rooms. You can access anatomy models, microscopes, and textbooks. You can use these resources on a drop-in basis. There is also a pay-for-print service for copies.

- Math Support, in the Math Lab, Room M-210

- Math support is provided on a drop-in basis. Independent learning, collaboration space, computers, and printing. The tutor availability is on myWCOnline.
- Writing, English, and Grammar Support, in the Writing Lab, Room H-103

- ATTENTION: Closed on Fridays and the weekends
- Writing, English, and grammar support is provided on a drop-in basis. Independent learning, collaboration space, computers, and printing. The tutor availability is on myWCOnline.
- STEM Support, in the STEM Center, Room S6-110

- STEM support is provided on a drop-in basis. Independent learning, workshops, and printing. The tutor availability is on myWCOnline.
- The ASC offers online tutoring via NetTutor and STAR-CA. NetTutor has one-on-one, online meeting, paper drop-off, and question drop-off. STAR-CA has live, drop-in tutoring. Both NetTutor and STAR-CA are on one platform that can be accessed by clicking here (or this link https://sdccd.instructure.com/enroll/MEAEEJ ). You will be taken to a new page titled "Enroll in Miramar Tutoring". Click the "Enroll in Course" button on the right-hand side. Then, you will be on the front page of the Miramar Tutoring Canvas course. Click the "NetTutor" link on the left-hand side menu to access both NetTutor and STAR-CA.
- The spring 2025 STAR-CA tutoring schedule will be found on http://www.star-ca.org/ .
- In the negotiated agreement between SDCCD and AFT, certain subjects are blocked out on NetTutor from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p..m, Monday through Thursday, from February 3, 2025, to June 2, 2025. Those subjects are listed in Item #4 below. They are unblocked from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and on Friday and the weekend. However, their availability might not coincide with the period when they are unblocked.

The assignment drop-off service will be available from 9:00 a.m., on Monday, February 3, 2025, to 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
When you are using this service, make sure to fill out the required quiz. Provide all the information about your prompt and if it is doable, attach your instructor's directions for your paper.
After submitting a paper, you should expect feedback in 48 hours (turnaround time). Please note that the 48 hours are during our hours of tutoring operation (TBD). The 48-hour turnaround time does not include Friday and the weekend. A paper submitted on Thursday at noon should be returned to you at noon the following Tuesday.

For instructors, you are welcome to hold your office/student hours at the ASC. Please e-mail your request to Donnie (dtran@sdccd.edu).

E-mail a completed application and college transcript(s) to Donnie Tran at dtran@sdccd.edu . Your transcript(s) must show a letter grade of B or higher in the courses you are interested in tutoring in.
Please do not attach additional attachments. Documents such as letters of recommendation and resumes are not reviewed.
Must have successfully taken ED 100 or its equivalence before applying. You cannot start work until you have ED 100 completed.
Here is what our screening/hiring process entails:
⇒Step 1) Screen applications. Contact reference.
⇒Step 2) Invite qualified applicants for an interview.
⇒Step 3) Offer tutoring position to the successful applicant.
⇒Step 4) Initiate SDCCD new hire paperwork. Among the tasks, the successful applicant needs to get done fingerprinting and TB test and submit on the HR Web site a district's tutor application.
