Miramar College Foundation Receives $50,000 Grant from San Diego Foundation to Advance Health Equity for AANHPI Students

The San Diego Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to the San Diego Miramar College Foundation to support a groundbreaking initiative aimed at improving mental health outcomes for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) students at San Diego Miramar College.

 

SDCCD and SDSU Partner to Boost Transfer, Construct Shared Facility

The SDCCD and SDSU are partnering to expand transfer pathways for students from City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges. Eligible SDCCD transfer students will benefit from the new GUARANTEED ADMISSION program between the community college district and SDSU starting in fall 2026. In addition, a first-of-its-kind academic facility at SDSU Mission Valley will bring SDCCD students and SDSU faculty under one roof to provide additional opportunities for the district’s STEM students.

Jennifer Pena Named Associate Dean of Career Education

The School of Business Technical Careers & Workforce Initiatives has hired Jennifer Peña as the new associate dean of Career Education. Pena will lead efforts in Career & Life Design Services and oversee key career education initiatives, including the Strong Workforce Program (SWP), Perkins, and other grants and special projects that support student career development and workforce alignment.
