Office Dr. Jeffrey Orgera Named Dean of Academic ServicesDr. Jeffrey Orgera has been named Dean of Academic Services. He begins his position June 2. Dean Orgera will have oversight of the School of Academic Services, which includes Library and Tutoring Services, High School programs, Marine Corps Air Station, Personal Growth, Honors, International Education, and Online Learning & Technology. SDCCDsafe App for Your SmartphoneIn the coming weeks, the San Diego Community College District will launch SDCCDsafe, a free app that turns your smartphone into a safety tool. Miramar College to Host 49th Annual Commencement Ceremony on May 16Miramar College will host its 49th annual commencement ceremony Friday, May 16 at 10:00 am on Compass Point. Check-in for graduates begins at 8:00 am in K1-107 located in the Student Services Building. Check-in ends at 9:30 am. At that time, students will begin lining up for the procession. Summer 2025 Drop for Non-Payment UpdateWe have some important updates for Summer 2025 Enrollment. Parking Permits Go Virtual!Parking permits are going virtual! Starting with the summer 2025 semester, students will no longer need a physical parking permit. DuHart Joins Miramar College as Director of Military Affairs and Military EducationLaChaune DuHart has been hired as Miramar College’s first ever Director of Veterans Affairs and Military Education, overseeing both the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) and Marine Corps Air Station operations. DuHart will officially join the College on Monday, June 2, 2025. Miramar College Awards $277,284 in Scholarships at Annual Awards CeremonyMiramar College awarded deserving students just over $277,000 at its 31st annual scholarship awards ceremony held April 28 in L-105.
