Miramar College’s Biotechnology Program has long been preparing students for San Diego’s dynamic life sciences industry, with an impact that extends well beyond the college classroom.

A partnership between Miramar College and the Naval Consolidated Brig, Miramar, is opening doors for incarcerated service members – offering not just educational opportunities, but a pathway to reinvention.

San Diego Miramar College student Razi ElHusseini has won the prestigious Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship.

ElHusseini is one of just 60 community college students nationwide to receive the Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship which helps students complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year institutions with a significantly reduced financial burden. 

California Senator Adam Schiff will speak at San Diego Miramar College’s May 15 Commencement Ceremony held on Compass Point. The commencement ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Check in for graduates begins at 8 am in K1-Student Services Building. Graduates will begin lining up at 9 a.m. with the procession starting at 9:45 a.m.  

Juan Reynoso has been named Director of the Native American Student Support & Success Program (NASSSP) at San Diego Miramar College. Reynoso will lead the College's efforts to advance the success of American Indian and Alaska Native students at Miramar College while building and strengthening community connections throughout the region.

Miramar College awarded 151 deserving students just over $137,000 in scholarship aid at its 32nd annual scholarship awards ceremony held April 30. Miramar College students, their guests and families, along with the College’s classified professional staff and faculty, San Diego Community College District officials and community partners gathered for the early evening celebration.  

Three students from the Diesel Equipment Technology program at San Diego Miramar College achieved outstanding success at the recent SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference, demonstrating their technical expertise and dedication to excellence.

Two students from San Diego Miramar College are among nine San Diego Community College District students named as semifinalists for the highly competitive Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, one of the nation’s most prestigious awards for community college students. The scholarship provides up to $55,000 a year to complete a bachelor’s degree.
