The CDC recommends that the best time to get a flu vaccine is now! (Sept-October). We are promoting FREE FLU shots now, while supplies last, to help avoid illness especially near finals. The protection will peak weeks following flu and COVID-19 vaccination and remain effective for five months or longer.

For Dominick Ramos, every month is Latinx/Chicanx Heritage Month. Ramos a college service officer assigned to the Educational Cultural Complex, is a second-generation American whose grandparents moved to the Coachella Valley from Monterrey, Mexico, a half century ago.

What does Latinx/Chicanx Heritage Month mean to him? “It’s about honoring the Hispanic communities and their role in building the United States and in contributing to the culture.”

CBS 8 visited campus on Sept. 26 to explore the finds of a recent audit. That audit found that 1 in 5 California community college students, from 2017-2019, successfully transferred to a 4-year institution. Vice President of Student Services Adrian Gonzales explained what Miramar College is doing to improve on those outcomes.
