REC Open Mentor Lab Hours are back every Thursday evening from 4 to 8pm at the REC Innovation Lab! Any mentor can come for all, or part of the time, to meet with student founders, answer questions, and just have an opportunity to get together and connect with others who share a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation! We really appreciate everything you do to help. I will be there every Thursday and I would be happy to see you whenever you have a chance to stop by. More information is below:
The San Diego Community College District will host Black Professionals Day on September 29 at San Diego Mesa College to encourage district students to pursue rewarding careers by having them meet Black professionals who are working in a variety of fields.
The Leading Equity, Anti-Racism & Diversity (LEAD) Office at Miramar College is proud to announce the return of the Dr. Constance Carroll Equity Summit Lecture Series, Oct. 26 and 27. The campus theme this year is Cultivating Community, Making the Invisible, Visible.
Miramar College has entered into a partnership to become the title sponsor of the Miramar College Alarm Clock Pep Rally on the KUSI morning news. Each Friday, during the high school football season, KUSI will broadcast live from a local high school that holds a pep rally. The first pep rally was Friday, August 18 at Valhalla High School. The deal also calls for hundreds of :15 second promotional spots to run during the fall on all KUSI shows.
KUSI-TV visited the Miramar College campus on August 22 for opening day of the fall 2023 semester. Vice President of Student Services, Adrian Gonzales spoke to the local news station and gave his reaction to the opening.
Point Loma Nazarene University and San Diego Miramar College have entered into a 3-year partnership to support students wishing to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). Starting in the spring of 2024, Miramar College students and alumni can pursue a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration without ever leaving the Miramar College campus.
UPDATE: The Miramar College campus will be fully open on Tuesday, August 22nd.
Due to Tropical Storm Hilary, the Miramar College campus will be closed on Monday, August 21. We expect to reopen for the first day of the fall semester on Tuesday, August 22. Students are asked to check their portals for important information on their individual classes. All faculty and staff are asked to contact their supervisor for further work related instructions. Please check the college website or social media platforms for additional information as it becomes available.
The College has been receiving questions about the impact of Hurricane Hilary on college operations and classes. While we don’t anticipate any schedule changes or emergency procedures, we encourage you to check the college website and Miramar College social media for any updates on Sunday evening or Monday morning prior to departing for the campus.
Students attending San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges as well as the College of Continuing Education now have access to their own personal student email. All students are encouraged to visit sdccd.edu/student-email to set up their account.
