Students from San Diego Miramar College’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Fire Academy programs demonstrated their commitment to service and community engagement by volunteering in a campus clean-up at Lincoln High School on August 7. The effort was part of preparations to launch Lincoln High School’s Fire Program for the upcoming academic year.

The School of Business Technical Careers & Workforce Initiatives has hired Jennifer Peña as the new associate dean of Career Education. Pena will lead efforts in Career & Life Design Services and oversee key career education initiatives, including the Strong Workforce Program (SWP), Perkins, and other grants and special projects that support student career development and workforce alignment.

Maria Battisti has been named Vice President of Administration Services (VPA) for San Diego Miramar College. Her appointment was approved by the San Diego Community College District Board of Trustees on June 12. Her first day in her new position will be June 23. 2025.
