Please join us on Nov. 4th from 12:30pm-1:30pm as we raise the Kumeyaay flag to commemorate and to kick off Native American Heritage Month!
Following the Miramar Land Acknowledgement; our college sits on Kumeyaay land. This event will continue the education and awareness of Kumeyaay People and Culture who are still living in communities in the San Diego Region. This event is open the public to engage.
Come learn from our Kumeyaay Community members, Bobby Wallace form Barona who will speak about Kumeyaay History and the flag. We will also have Blue Eagle Bird Singers from Viejas who will share songs and culture from the Kumeyaay peoples. This event will bring awareness and history of the original peoples of San Diego. In addition, our Native American and Indigenous Students will speak and share poems commemorating Native American Heritage Month.
