San Diego Miramar College, San Diego Mesa College, and San Diego City College were ranked second, third, and fourth in the state, respectively, for how quickly students recoup their educational costs, according to a first-of-its kind analysis of California’s 327 two-year public and private institutions.
The San Diego Foundation has awarded a $50,000 grant to the San Diego Miramar College Foundation to support a groundbreaking initiative aimed at improving mental health outcomes for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) students at San Diego Miramar College.

The School of Business Technical Careers & Workforce Initiatives has hired Jennifer Peña as the new associate dean of Career Education. Pena will lead efforts in Career & Life Design Services and oversee key career education initiatives, including the Strong Workforce Program (SWP), Perkins, and other grants and special projects that support student career development and workforce alignment.

Maria Battisti has been named Vice President of Administration Services (VPA) for San Diego Miramar College. Her appointment was approved by the San Diego Community College District Board of Trustees on June 12. Her first day in her new position will be June 23. 2025.
