The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) has secured federal funding totaling nearly $2.5 million to finance critical improvements at the San Diego Miramar College public safety training center, new centers supporting student-parents at the San Diego City, Mesa and Continuing Education campuses, and renovation of the restrooms at San Diego College of Continuing Education’s historic Educational Cultural Complex.
Miramar College welcomed over 200 high school students from San Diego Unified to campus to learn about its Bio Tech, Fire/EMT and Exercise Sciences programs through it Discover Your Superpower event.
Beginning Monday, March 4, 2024, Miramar’s College Police Office hours will change. The new hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Dr. Roberta C. Baade has been selected as the newest community board member to serve on the San Diego Miramar College Foundation Board of Directors. In a unanimous vote taken at the Feb. 21 board meeting, Dr. Baade was elected to a 3-year term.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, Miramar College is hosting an array of on campus and online events. Attendees can choose from a documentary screening on gender inequality, a discussion on contemporary women’s literature, and attend the Women in Business Expo, and more.
On the heels of the grand opening of the REC Innovation Lab, CBS 8 featured REC Innovation Lab student Anh Pham. Pham, who was one of the student pitchers during the ribbon cutting ceremony held in January, runs Earth Fan Surf Company which makes eco-friendly wooden boards for body surfing.
Miramar College held a Pizza with Professors event on Feb. 15. This was an opportunity for students and staff to get to know Miramar College faculty. The Feb. 15 featured the College's Chemistry faculty. There will be three more events held this semester:
