DuHart Joins Miramar College as Director of Military Affairs and Military Education

LaChaune DuHart has been hired as Miramar College’s first ever Director of Veterans Affairs and Military Education, overseeing both the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) and Marine Corps Air Station operations. DuHart will officially join the College on Monday, June 2, 2025. 

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, DuHart served with distinction in the United States Army as a 68T Animal Care specialist/non-commissioned officer. Her military career took her to diverse locations before a medical retirement following her service at Fort Carson, Colorado.

DuHart holds an associate's degree in social work, a bachelor's degree in social work and Sociology, and a master's degree in social work. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Ph.D. candidate in social work at Colorado State University, she combines clinical expertise with scholarly rigor.

Some of her relevant experience in higher education includes roles as a VA student employee, VA School Certifying Official, Transition and Support coordinator, and assistant director of Veteran Recruitment & Outreach. Most recently, DuHart served as Director of Veterans Services at the University of Northern Colorado while concurrently working as an adjunct professor for the Colorado State School of Social Work.
