Maria Battisti Named Vice President of Administrative Services at Miramar College

Maria Battisti has been named Vice President of Administration Services (VPA) for San Diego Miramar College. Her appointment was approved by the San Diego Community College District Board of Trustees on June 12. Her first day in her new position will be June 23. 2025.

Service has been the foundation of Maria Battisti’s professional journey. She began her career in the United States Air Force, where she developed a deep appreciation for discipline, integrity, and a commitment to a greater purpose. These values continue to guide her leadership philosophy. After completing her military service, she transitioned into public education, joining the California Community College system in 2013.

Since then, Battisti has dedicated her career to advancing student success and institutional effectiveness through sound fiscal stewardship and collaborative leadership. She rose through the ranks of business services, acquiring a comprehensive understanding of financial operations, and has served for five years as a Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services. Her leadership portfolio includes oversight of budgeting, facilities planning, fiscal accountability, and strategic resource allocation.

Her experience also includes a role in the K-12 sector as Chief Business Official for an elementary school district, where she gained a broader understanding of the educational continuum and reaffirmed her belief in the importance of equity, access, and responsible resource management at all levels of public education.

Battisti holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA), both of which have equipped her with the analytical skills and strategic insight to lead complex fiscal and operational initiatives in education.

She is deeply committed to transparent, student-centered leadership that supports institutional growth, long-term sustainability, but most importantly she is committed to student success at San Diego Miramar College. As such, it is my firm belief that Maria is a perfect fit for our culture and for the direction we’re headed as a college community.
