Mission, Vision, & Values

Mission

The Dreamers Support Office provides programs and services to empower undocumented and immigrant students at San Diego Miramar College to achieve their academic, career, and personal pursuits while becoming active members of our campus culture and our wider community.

The Miramar Dreamers program is unique in higher education as it serves current students, college employees, and the wider community through personalize support for undocumented and immigrant individuals regardless of immigration status through personalized supports and programming topics including access to higher education, advocacy and educational materials, campus-based and community services, current events, engagement activities, legal aid referrals, legislative updates, and more.

Vision

The Dreamers Support Office strives to create a future in which undocumented and immigrant students are visible, valued, and well-served at our campus; policies are in place that ensure undocumented and immigrant students have equal access to higher education, career, and income-generating opportunities as their peers; and all faculty and staff are well-educated on how best to support undocumented and immigrant students.

Values

Our values are defined by the acronym DREAMERS. We are data driven, research based, and empathetic. We promote meaningful allyship and are meticulous in what we do; we strive to be ethno-culturally competent, resource conscience, and—above all—student focused.
