San Diego Miramar College 2022 commencement ceremony will take place Friday, May 20, 2022 from 10am-12pm at Compass Point. In an effort to make sure the ceremony runs smoothly, here is important information to prepare one for the big day.

Annette Benning Promise Scholarship - $500
As you know from the news and special announcements, the COVID-19 coronavirus has now been classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a pandemic, with exponential increases in its impact around the world.
Due to concerns over COVID-19, the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Board of Directors voted Thursday to immediately postpone practices outside of regularly scheduled classes, and competition for all spring sports, as well as any and all nontraditional sports seasons, indefinitely. As a result, Miramar College will suspend athletics for the remainder of the spring semester.
"It's important that we look out for the well-being of our student-athletes," said Keith Curry, Chair of the Board of Directors.
After a Sunday evening discussion with our college police, it has been decided that community service officers and/or officers will be present at the Hilllery/Westview Parkway and Black Mountain entrances beginning tomorrow morning to make certain that students and the general public remain off campus starting March 16 through March 22.
San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) Chancellor Constance M. Carroll announced that all district campuses will close beginning Monday, March 23, as the district implements remote delivery of instruction and essential operations due to the COVID-19 situation. It is not yet known when campuses might reopen.
COVID-19 and College Students: What you Absolutely Need to Know
The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD), which transitioned 60,000 students to all online classes on March 23, announced it expects to continue with online classes through the remainder of the spring semester. In addition, the district — which includes San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges as well as San Diego Continuing Education — will offer all online classes this summer.

As you know, classes were paused for one week to prepare for remote instruction. We hope that you are adjusting to these new methods and we encourage you to hang in there. As public health experts continue to indicate that we are likely to be impacted by COVID-19 throughout this semester, San Diego Miramar College, along with all the other San Diego Community College District colleges and Continuing Education have made the difficult decision to postpone the Spring 2020 Commencement Ceremony to be held May 29, 2020 inside Hourglass Fieldhouse.
