Thanks to the high quality business programs being offered throughout the year, the San Diego Miramar College Business Department has developed a relationship with local employers to assist in securing interns for the upcoming academic year.
Attention students! We have modified our parking in Lot #3 and inside the parking structure on the northeast side of campus. MTS is relocating 60 spots from the northeast parking structure to Lot #3 and near the W building. In exchange, the College will have all spaces available in the northeast parking garage. Please pay attention to the posted signs. We expect to add another 499 spots upon completion of a new parking structure on the south side of campus.
Delta Air Lines has selected San Diego Miramar College as one of its thirty-eight schools nationwide that will assist the air carrier in providing qualified aircraft maintenance technicians.
San Diego Miramar College understands how difficult it can be for freshmen, or any student, to secure the necessary classes they need. In anticipation of this need, the College has designed new Guided Pathways for both transfer students and Career Technical Education (CTE) students to attain 60 units in 2 years or less.
The Miramar College Business Club has received a $1,500 grant from US Bank for program support of the entrepreneurship initiatives planned by the members of the student organization.
The Miramar College Business Club will apply the grant toward a scholarship that will allow for its members to support a community based project. Details on the scope of the community project will be determined at a later date.
After twelve days awash in dramatic rescues, seeking shelter from a small tornado, and getting inundated by more than 50 inches of rain in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, firefighter and emergency medical technician Keegan King is back home from Houston.
A brand new parking structure opened on Dec. 4 on the southeast side of campus. The new G4 parking structure features 499 new spaces for students, staff, and faculty. The new structure can be accessed by Gold Coast Drive via South Campus Drive, Miramar College Driveway, and Hillery Drive via North Campus Drive. This new structure will help tie the campus together with better access on and off campus. The G4 structure has 48 marked spots for staff, 9 disabled parking spots and 442 student parking spots.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has selected 534 high-achieving community college students from across the U.S. as semifinalists to compete for its Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, from a pool of nearly 2,500 applicants. This highly competitive scholarship will offer selected finalists as much as $40,000 per year for up to three years to complete their bachelor's degrees at selective four-year colleges and universities.
