Miramar College Receives $75,000 Science & Technology Grant
San Diego Miramar College has been selected to receive a $75,000 grant to support Supply Chain Experience to Improve Career Readiness in Underserved Community College Students (SCE Program) at the Southern California Biotechnology Center at San Diego Miramar College (SCBC). This is the second time the Miramar College Foundation has received this grant.
Miramar College Enters Into Partnership with California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection
The Fire/EMT program at San Diego Miramar College has entered into a new 4-year agreement with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL Fire) to provide instruction, training, facilities, equipment and other services for students to the extent of prescribed curriculum in pre-employment, employment and general studies in CAL Fire. The agreement runs Jan. 1, 2021 through Dec. 31, 2024.

On November 14, 2020, a federal district court held that the Acting Secretary of the Department of
Toys For Tots Registration at Hourglass Field Through Nov. 22
The Hourglass Field, located on the campus of San Diego Miramar College, is one of 27 Toys for Tots registration and distribution locations chosen by the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department. Parents can register their children for the program from now until Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Hourglass Fieldhouse.
REC Innovation Lab Finalist for San Diego Business Journal
The REC Innovation Lab at San Diego Miramar College has been named a finalist for the Corporate & Social Responsibility: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Awards 2020 from the San Diego Business Journal.
"We are so proud to be recognized for embracing all of those aspects within the REC Community." said Steve Nguyen, social media manager for the REC Innovation Lab. "One of the main goals of the REC is to create an inclusive environment for people of all different backgrounds to come and learn how to start their own companies."
