San Diego Miramar College has launched a Financial Aid Television (FATV) web portal to assist students with all their financial aid needs 24/7. Students and parents can now access FATV from their computer, smart phones or tablets on their terms.
San Diego Miramar College will host the 2020 San Diego Regional Science Olympiad Feb. 8. More than 1,000 middle and high school students will be on campus for the competition.
The numbers are in and San Diego Miramar College continues to have a “Best in Class” food rescue program. In 2019, the College distributed 72,679 pounds of rescued produce at its Free Farmer’s Market, which is held once a month on campus. The College also picked up and distributed another 29,200 pounds of food from the Feeding San Diego Retail Rescue Program. In total, 101,879 pounds or 51 tons of rescued food went to persons experiencing food insecurities instead of ending up in a landfill.
On Feb. 5, 2020 thousands of athletes signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at colleges all across the United States. On Thursday, Feb. 20, San Diego Miramar College is adding a new twist to this concept by hosting a Career Education signing day for San Diego Unified School District students wishing to pursue an educational career in high-wage, in demand fields such as Child Development, Diesel Technology, Automotive Technology, Biotechnology, Exercise Science, Entrepreneurship Emergency Medical Services, and Fire Technology.
A new set of 8-week spring classes begin April 6 at Miramar College. Offerings include: Accounting; Anthropology; Art Orientation; Automotive; Business; Communications; Computer Science; Child Development; Economics; Exercise Sciences; Fire/EMT; History; Science, and Real Estate Finance. A total of 95 eight-week classes are currently being offered.
San Diego Miramar College 2022 commencement ceremony will take place Friday, May 20, 2022 from 10am-12pm at Compass Point. In an effort to make sure the ceremony runs smoothly, here is important information to prepare one for the big day.

As you know from the news and special announcements, the COVID-19 coronavirus has now been classified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a pandemic, with exponential increases in its impact around the world.
Due to concerns over COVID-19, the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Board of Directors voted Thursday to immediately postpone practices outside of regularly scheduled classes, and competition for all spring sports, as well as any and all nontraditional sports seasons, indefinitely. As a result, Miramar College will suspend athletics for the remainder of the spring semester.
"It's important that we look out for the well-being of our student-athletes," said Keith Curry, Chair of the Board of Directors.
