Move over Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime, the San Diego Miramar College library is now offering over 24,500 full-length feature films in a new streaming database available to students, faculty and staff free of charge.
Spring 2018 semester begins Monday, January 29, 2018. Here is some important information:

*parking permits are $40.00 and can be purchased either online or at the Student Accounting office located on the second floor of Student Services building. Parking permits can be picked up at the Campus Police office located on the northeast side of campus near the G-3 parking structure.

Under-represented students pursuing STEM degrees will get a financial boost in 2018 after the Miramar College Foundation was awarded a $75,000 grant from the Science & Technology Grants Program for the project, Community Outreach Supply Chain Experience to Improve Career Awareness and College Success in San Diego Region Community College Students (SCE Project). The San Diego Foundation awarded grant runs from January 15, 2018 through January 15, 2019.
Over 550 attendees visited campus on March 3 for the annual Science Festival. This event’s success is indicative of the passion of the students, staff, faculty and the administration of Miramar College to provide STEM based opportunities to the community. Miramar College art student Hanna Hunter has been accepted to the world-renowned School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she will be majoring in painting. SAIC is one of the most prestigious Art schools in the nation.
Miramar College student Christian Pratt was selected to travel to NASA's Johnson Space Center Feb. 13-15 to participate in the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) onsite experience.
Pratt was one of 171 community college students from across the U.S. to bepart of the NCAS onsite experience.

The Miramar College Remote Pilot Ground School (drone program) lifted off in the spring of 2018 and just two months into its inaugural term, the program received $18,514.00 worth of drone technology from San Diego Gas & Electric.
SDG&E donated six top of the line drones to be used in the college’s two Remote Pilot Flight Lab sections (Aviation 161L).
A pair of San Diego Miramar College students have been named to Phi Theta Kappa’s All-California Academic team. Kelly Clemen and Nhan Nguyen will be recognized at a PTK awards luncheon at the Sacramento Convention Center on Monday, April 2.
Miramar College awarded $173,637.00 at its 24th annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony held April 25 on campus. This year, the Miramar College Foundation administered 180 awards totaling $90,637.00. An additional 64 external awards, totaling $83,000.00 will be awarded to deserving students bringing the grand total awarded to $173,637.00, an increase of just over $18,000.00 from the previous year.
