Important Spring 2018 Information

 

Spring 2018 semester begins Monday, January 29, 2018. Here is some important information:

*TheWifi password is miramarspring 2018

*parking permits are $40.00 and can be purchased either online or at the Student Accounting office located on the second floor of Student Services building. Parking permits can be picked up at the Campus Police office located on the northeast side of campus near the G-3 parking structure.

San Diego Foundation Awards Miramar College $75,000 Grant to Improve Career Awareness and College Success

 

Under-represented students pursuing STEM degrees will get a financial boost in 2018 after the Miramar College Foundation was awarded a $75,000 grant from the Science & Technology Grants Program for the project, Community Outreach Supply Chain Experience to Improve Career Awareness and College Success in San Diego Region Community College Students (SCE Project). The San Diego Foundation awarded grant runs from January 15, 2018 through January 15, 2019.

SDG&E Donates Drone Technology to Miramar College Aviation Program

The Miramar College Remote Pilot Ground School (drone program) lifted off in the spring of 2018 and just two months into its inaugural term, the program received $18,514.00 worth of drone technology from San Diego Gas & Electric.

SDG&E donated six top of the line drones to be used in the college’s two Remote Pilot Flight Lab sections (Aviation 161L).

Miramar College Awards $173,637 in Scholarships

Miramar College awarded $173,637.00 at its 24th annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony held April 25 on campus. This year, the Miramar College Foundation administered 180 awards totaling $90,637.00. An additional 64 external awards, totaling $83,000.00 will be awarded to deserving students bringing the grand total awarded to $173,637.00, an increase of just over $18,000.00 from the previous year.
