Spring 2021 Virtual Welcome Days- February 2-4 & February 9-11

It’s going to take more than a pandemic to keep Miramar College from providing first-class service to its students. Exhibit A: Virtual Welcome Days, two weeks of beginning-of-the-semester, online sessions allowing students to engage with the college community and speak directly with a program or department representatives.

“We want to make sure our students feel welcomed and feel prepared and are greeted by a friendly face,” said Chantal Hernandez, a Senior Student Services Assistant at the Miramar College Outreach Office. “Even though we’re virtual, that doesn’t mean our work has to stop.”

The informational Zoom sessions for new and returning students are set for February 2-4 and February 9-11. Students can sign up to receive a schedule of sessions at tinyurl.com/WelcomeSpring21. Schedules will be emailed to students the week of January 25. Virtual Welcome Days for the Fall 2020 semester comprised of 30, half-hour, informational sessions on topics including tutoring support, veterans benefits, Disability Support Programs & Services, mental health counseling, and student success. Before the pandemic, Miramar College typically held its Jets Welcome Days around the campus Compass Circle.

“Students need to know we are there for them,” Hernandez said.

New and returning students are encouraged to attend these Zoom informational sessions to gain information and tools to help prepare for the Spring semester!

What is this event?

Throughout the six days, there will be 30-minute informational Zoom sessions that will cover topics such as relevant services during continued remote operations, support programs and additional resources to help you engage with your campus community.
