San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) will increase its on-campus and hybrid classe

Miramar College will host a drive through graduation parade on Friday, May 21 starting at 10 a.m. The graduation parade will take place on campus and is expected to last two hours.

The History of Education Society invites undergraduate students enrolled in California community colleges to submit original essays on the history of education. The jury, consisting of History of Education Society, will select up to eight finalists to present posters of their research at the Annual Meeting of the History of Education Society at the Doubletree Hotel Mission Valley, November 4-7, 2021. Winners will be based on these presentation.

On May 12th, the Federal Communications Commission will launch a temporary program to help families and households struggling to afford Internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic.  

The Emergency Broadband Benefit provides a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. 

Anthropology Professor Laura Gonzalez has been named a Mellon/ACLS Community College Faculty Fellows for 2021 by the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS). She is one of just twenty-eight faculty named.
