Important Campus Operations Update as Spring Semester Begins

Masking

All individuals must wear face coverings while indoors at a District facility regardless of vaccination status, unless they have a medical exemption approved by Risk Management.  Face coverings may be removed while individuals are outdoors and physically distanced (six feet apart), when alone in a workspace, when in a vehicle alone, while eating or drinking and physically distanced, while performing duties that cannot be done safely while wearing a face covering, or for specific meetings or events attended only by fully vaccinated individuals as approved by Risk Management.

How do I obtain PPE?

Limited stores of PPE are available for distribution.  Surgical masks, multiple use N95 masks, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, and surface cleaner are available.  Please reach out to your supervisor/manager to arrange distribution.

The PASS System – Student Access

All classes with an in-person component have a vaccination “prerequisite.”  Students must be fully vaccinated to enroll.  Students with an approved exemption are required to comply with weekly testing requirements.  SDCCD is using Cleared4 to give faculty and staff a quick and easy way to verify if a student meets COVID-19 vaccination and testing requirements.  Students cleared for in-person instruction and student appointments/activities will be provided a “Blue Pass.”  Students who have tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours will be issued a “Green PASS.”  Students who do not meet COVID-19 vaccination and/or testing requirements will be issued a “Red PASS.”  Specific details are at COVID-19 Information for Students | San Diego Community College District (sdccd.edu).

Employee COVID Reporting

If an employee is sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, they must stay home from work.  Employees must report their symptoms or positive COVID-19 test to their supervisor or manager.  The employee will be contacted by SDCCD Risk Management for specific quarantine requirements and follow-up testing and safety requirements.

Student COVID Reporting

If a student is sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, they must not participate in face-to-face instruction or student services.  Students must report their positive COVID-19 test to their instructor.  The student positive COVID-19 reporting form is published at student fillable Positive COVID Test Reporting Form-3_0.pdf (sdmiramar.edu)The instructor will report to their Department Chair and Dean.  Students will be contacted by Student Health Services for specific quarantine requirements and follow-up testing and safety requirements.  Close contact employees will be contacted by SDCCD Risk Management for specific follow-up.

How do I get a COVID test?

Student Services

All Student Services office will primarily be remote until February 22. All offices will provide virtual services from 8:00a-6:00p Monday through Thursday, and 8:00a-1:00p on Fridays. During the first few days of classes, Student Services will have staff operating outdoor information booths to welcome students taking live/F2F classes to provide resource information and to guide students and the general public to where they need to go.

Administrative Services

Operations will be primarily remote until February 22. Included in these remote services are Budget/Purchasing/Travel, Employment/Payroll, and Student Accounting.  Hourglass Support Services will be on campus daily to support Instruction and the City of San Diego Park and Recreation department.  Reprographics will offer limited service for those who submit work orders online at repro@sdccd.edu.  Receiving will be operating in a limited capacity to receive and distribute purchase orders.
