Library Learning Resource Distribution Event

Online Reservations Only - Pick-up dates: February 8th, 9th, 15th, & 16th, 2022
The Miramar College Library and AV Department is excited to welcome you back! Our staff is committed to providing academic support for students. Due to the Public Health orders and current status of the COVID-19 pandemic, San Diego Miramar College Library will allow the checkout of laptops and print books by reservation only. Walk-in services will not be available.

In order to receive a laptop, books, or materials you MUST complete an online request form. Once your request is approved, you will receive a confirmation email from our staff stating your item will be available for pick up during the event dates above.

Students MUST provide a valid government issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License, Passport) along with their Student ID# at the time of pickup. The health of our students, faculty, staff and the community are our top priority. During this event, face coverings shall be worn as required in the California Department of Public Health Face Covering Guidance. Students not wearing mask covering their nose and mouth will not be served.

How to request materials:

  1. Navigate to the Miramar College Library website.
  2. Search for library materials in OneSearch.
    • To search for student laptops type "Laptop Acer" in the search box, then click on "Laptop, Acer Aspire 5" or follow this direct link.
    • Follow this link to search for textbooks on reserve.
    • To search for other print materials, type your search terms in the search box and refine your results by limiting to Library: San Diego Miramar College.
  3. Click the title of the laptop or library book/resource you wish to request.
  4.  On the “Get It” section of the page, click on "mySDCCD Login."
  5. Log in with the following:
    • Username: your student 10-digit ID number.
    • Password: the password you use to log into your mySDCCD portal.
  6. Only students who are enrolled in the current semester are able to place requests.
  7. Click "Request."
  8. Provide the following contact information in the comment field to assure that contact information is accurate within our library system:
    • Phone number
    • Email address

Checkout will be on a first-come-first-served basis while supplies last. Only currently enrolled San Diego Miramar College students may checkout laptops. Please provide a valid photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, passport) along with your college ID during this event.

Dates and Hours of Service:

  • Tuesday, February 8th from 10:00am to 2:00pm
  • Wednesday, February 9th from 10:00am to 2:00pm
  • Tuesday, February 15th from 10:00am to 2:00pm
  • Wednesday, February 16th from 10:00am to 2:00pm

Additional Information:

  • Laptops and print (hard copy) books must be reserved online. Walk-in service are not available.
  • To qualify for a laptop checkout, students must be enrolled in at least one class at Miramar College for the current Spring 2022 semester with no outstanding fees or holds on their account.
  • Student MUST provide valid government issued photo ID (e.g., Driver's License, Passport) along with their student ID at time of pick-up.
  • Miramar College does not provide any technical assistance laptops that are checked out to students.  Laptops that students check out are considered a personal device for the duration of the checkout period.  Students may configure and/or install software however they wish, but as with a personal laptop, students will need to arrange their own technical support if any is needed.
  • Borrowers assume responsibility for all of their library materials.
  • Students should be aware that the late return of any Library materials may result in a delay or hold on their student account.
  • During this event, face coverings shall be worn as required in the California Department of Public Health Face Covering Guidance.
