One of the busiest services on a college campus takes place late summer into early fall when the Outreach Team needs to make certain students are enrolled and ready to begin their college careers. Eleven strong, the Miramar College Outreach Team is the gatekeeper for most new students who arrive on an unfamiliar campus. Navigating ones first year of college can be tough especially during a worldwide pandemic. However, a new feature at Miramar College is helping students connect to the campus even while most Miramar College classes and services remain remote.

Student Services has received numerous comments and feedback regarding our current online class search (http://classschedule.sdccd.edu).  We understand that the class search is an extremely important tool for enrollment and provides key class information to our students such as course information, requisites and books. 

Miramar College’s annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony was held Friday, Sept. 11 at noon inside the Fire Tech grinder. The ceremony was a combination virtual presentation with an in-person component due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD), one of the largest in California, will continue online instruction for its 100,000 students through the remainder of the academic year, including the January 2021 intersession and Spring 2021 semester.

Data shows approximately only 55% of our financial aid students have signed up for direct deposit to receive their financial aid funds. We'd like to reach 90% Direct Deposit sign up.

Miramar College was named an NC3 “School on the Rise” at the 7th Annual Leadership Summit hosted by the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3). Only 11 institutions, nationally, won awards for their leadership and innovation in career and technical education. Each year at NC3’s Annual Leadership Summit, awards are presented to top-performing institutions in the NC3 Network.

San Diegans will have an opportunity to support deserving local students when the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) holds its second annual Keeping the Promise giving day on October 22 to raise funds for the tuition-free San Diego Promise program.

For the first time, all three colleges in the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) are included in The Hispanic Outlook on Education Magazine’s list of Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics.

San Diego City College ranks No. 44 and San Diego Miramar College No. 100 for Hispanic enrollment among 2-year colleges during the 2018-19 academic year. In addition, City College is ranked No. 99 for associate degrees awarded.
