The Innovation Showcase is the final event of the summer where startup teams will present to industry experts, CEO’s and founders of high-growth startups, other experienced entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and angel investors.

Each of the startups will deliver a two-minute pitch sharing information about the companies they have been working to get ready to launch. They will share their progress and the audience will have the chance to provide feedback and ask questions.
Winners of REC innovation Showcase pitch competition will have the chance to present at the 2021 Angel Investors Conference where over $200K is guaranteed to be invested (entry fee, preparation and coaching will be provided for winners).

We have experts in a wide range of fields providing workshops on topics such as: writing social media ads, how to obtain government grants, writing a crowd-funding campaign, and how to create dynamic videos, just to name a few. Our ongoing focus is on underrepresented portions of the population and right now, we are focused on spotlighting our services for black founders. About REC Innovation Lab:
The San Diego Miramar College REC Innovation Lab launched its first cohort in March, just as shut-down orders were being issued across California. We had to quickly pivot to a virtual environment to ensure that everyone had access to the information and services needed to continue building their businesses remotely.
Since launching on March 4th, The REC has held more than 147 virtual events. All of the presentation recordings are available on our YouTube channel.
Regional Entrepreneurship Center - REC Innovation Lab Seed Fund Scholarships
Thanks to generous donations from several of our community partners and internal stakeholders, we are proud to offer the 2020 REC Innovation Lab Seed Fund Scholarships in partnership with the San Diego Miramar College Financial Aid Office.
So far, we are able to offer 10 scholarships starting in August through the financial aid office to entrepreneurs who have successfully completed the REC Innovation Lab incubator. We are hoping to offer more scholarships and if you can donate to help these startups become a reality, we would be so grateful!
The process to donate is very simple. On the foundation website (https://www.sdmiramar.edu/campus/foundation/waystogive, click on Donate; select Debit/Credit Card or PayPal.
Make sure under “Add Special Instructions” – provide a note: donation is to support the REC Innovation Lab/ Entrepreneurship Program. All donations or text deductible and 100% of the money donated goes to the students to help them to launch their businesses.
