Miramar College has been recognized by The Campaign for College Opportunity as one of only 56 California Community Colleges honored for implementing landmark placement policy AB 705, championed by Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin and signed into law in 2017. The California Coast Credit Union was founded in 1929 by local educators, and the non-profit Cal Coast Cares Foundation was created in 2015 to continue their legacy by supporting the local education community, including student scholarships and educator grants.
