Mission
Our mission is to ensure that every student has access to equitable basic needs, such as healthy food, stable housing, and financial wellness, so that they are better able to persist at Miramar College and meet their educational goals. We are committed to providing an educational environment that fosters compassion and respect, welcomes diversity and supports students in various circumstances, including students experiencing basic needs insecurities.
Success Stories
Student success is not only defined by GPA and a completed educational plan. Meeting our students' basic needs—having enough to eat, a safe place to sleep, reliable transportation, access to healthcare, technology, and educational materials, plus much more—is vital for their success. The Jet Fuel Resource Center is one way through which students find success outside of the classroom!
The pantry provides access to essential food items, which is a great help in reducing stress and ensuring food security. I appreciate the variety of products available, the organization of the pantry, and the kindness of the staff or volunteers who assist.
—Dunia, Miramar College Student
The food pantry does an incredible job of providing essential support with kindness and efficiency, creating a welcoming and compassionate environment. Your dedication to helping the community and ensuring everyone has access to nutritious food truly makes a difference.
—Nathan, Miramar College Student
