Cal Vet Fee Waiver Program
County Veterans Service Officers are authorized to administer the College Fee Waiver Program for Veterans' Dependents. Considering the fees at California's universities and colleges, this program is a valuable benefit to our veterans and their families.
The waiver of fees applies to California State Universities (CSU), University of California campuses (UC), and California community colleges only. Benefits are awarded on an "academic year" basis, and students are required to reapply each year. You MUST be a California Resident in order to qualify for this benefit.
The Cal Vet Fee Waiver covers Tuition fees ONLY. All other mandatory fees are assumed by the student (Health fees, student representation fees, etc.). Failure to pay these mandatory fees may result in a drop from registered classes for nonpayment. The fee waiver DOES NOT cover books or supplies. It is advised that all students apply for Financial aid at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov.
