Safety Shower and Eye Wash
Safety Shower and Eye Wash are placed in areas that have flammable and corrosive chemicals. They are maintained monthly by departmental staff. The form Safety shower and Eye Wash Check Instructions details the instructions in how to check the safety shower and eye wash station. Departmental staff will document that the station has been checked by marking on the tag next to the station.
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs)
AEDs are placed in each main building. Some buildings have multiple AEDs, such as health student center (K2), Library (LLRC), and administration (N) buildings. The AEDs are checked daily and monthly by departmental staff. Staffs will fill out Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) Checklist form and send the results to the OEHS Coordinator and they will send the results to the county. Fire Extinguisher
Fire Extinguisher are placed throughout campus. There is always one near where flammable liquid is stored. Fire Extinguishers are checked monthly by facility and changed out annually by local fire department. Fire extinguishers training is provided to all employees who work in area of flammable liquids. Facility will document that the fire extinguisher has been checked by marking on the tag the date and who checked the fire extinguisher.
Oil Storage Containers
The oil container must be checked monthly/weekly according to our Spill Plan Control and Countermeasure. The oil containers for campus operation are maintained by facility. The oil containers in Automotive Technology and Diesel Technology are checked by departmental staff. These logs are sent to OEHS Coordinator for record keeping.
