SCBC/Miramar Biotechnology Outreach equips secondary school educators with training, support, and research-grade equipment to bring real-world biotechnology into the classroom. Our programs include hands-on labs such as PCR, ELISA, DNA extraction, and gel electrophoresis—giving students authentic scientific experiences that inspire learning.

Community of Practice
We are excited to announce a new initiative from the Miramar College Biotechnology Outreach team and Mira Mesa High School — a Community of Practice (CoP) specifically for high school educators. Whether you're looking to integrate foundational biotech lessons for the first time or seeking to expand your existing instruction this group is for you! The CoP is designed to be a collaborative space for all teachers interested in biotech, providing valuable resources, specialized knowledge, and a strong professional network. Our first meeting will be on Feb 3, 2026, at Mira Mesa High School. Please reach out to [email protected] if you are interested in joining us.
