Invest in Success 2019
The San Diego Miramar College Foundation raised over $34,000.00 during its 2019 Invest in Success Fundraiser held May 4 at the private residence of Bill and Joanie Huck in Coronado, Ca. The Foundation wishes to thank the Huck family for opening their home to us for a third year.The 9th annual fundraiser was attended by 71 guests who enjoyed a night of food, spirits, silent auction bidding and pretend casino gaming.
"The money raised on May 4 will help ensure an endowment for the Freshman Scholarship program," said Dr. Patricia Hsieh, president of San Diego Miramar College. “This endowment will be established as a result of the total amount raised since the Miramar College Foundation’s 2011 Invest in Success event.” Over 100 guests purchased tickets for the event that generated $11,550.00 in ticket sales. Fifty donated silent auction items sold for a combined $5,682.00. The Foundation’s community partners and individual donors contributed another $25,342 in sponsorships and donations.

On April 10, the Miramar College Foundation administered 50 awards totaling $165,250. An additional 40 external awards, totaling $83,000 were awarded to deserving students bringing the grand total awarded to $248,250, an increase of $75,250 from the previous year.

The San Diego Miramar College Foundation raised over $47,000 during its 2018 Invest in Success Fundraiser held May 5 at the private residence of Foundation Board member Tony Pizarro in Rancho Santa Fe, Ca.
The 8th annual fundraiser was attended by more than 140 guests who enjoyed a night of food, spirits, silent auction bidding and pretend casino gaming.
"The money raised on May 5 will ensure an endowment for the Freshman Scholarship program will be established. Thanks to Miramar College Foundation, the first Invest in Success fundraiser was held in 2011 to raise scholarship fund to support incoming freshmen annually." said Dr. Patricia Hsieh, president of San Diego Miramar College. “This year’s proceed continues to bring the Foundation closer to reach the goal of establishing an endowment.”
Over 140 guests participated in the event that generated $11,625 in ticket sales. Fifty-seven donated silent auction items sold for a combined $7,715. The Foundation’s community partners and individual donors contributed another $38,071.24 in sponsorships and donations.

The Miramar College Foundation, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, was officially created on August 21, 1994 and is committed to supporting the diverse population of Miramar College students by raising scholarship funds. On April 25, Miramar College hosted its 24th annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony whereby the Miramar College Foundation administered 180 awards totaling $90,637. An additional 64 external awards, totaling $83,000 will be awarded to deserving students bringing the grand total awarded to $173,637, an increase of just over $18,000 from the previous year.
The 2019 Invest in Success fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2019 and will be held at a private residence in Coronado, Ca.

The San Diego Miramar College Foundation raised $37,157.62 during its 2017 Invest in Success Fundraiser held May 6 at a private residence in Coronado, Ca.
This year’s fundraiser was attended by 110 guests who enjoyed a night of food, spirits, silent auction bidding and pretend casino gaming.
"We had another fantastic turnout for this very important Foundation event," said Dr. Patricia Hsieh, president of San Diego Miramar College. "The money raised on May 6 will help ensure that we keep our Freshman Scholarship program and other scholarships solvent."
The Foundation sold 95 tickets to the event that generated $8,900. Forty-one donated silent auction items sold for a combined $5,100. The Foundation’s community partners and individual donors contributed another $29,980 in sponsorships.

Invest in Success 2016
San Diego Miramar College raised $25,000 for scholarships at its annual Invest in Success fundraiser held May 7. Nearly 100 attendees gathered at a private residence in Coronado, CA for an evening of food and entertainment. Much of the money raised will go toward endowing the College’s freshman scholarship program. The Miramar College Foundation hosted the event.

Invest In Success 2015
On September 30, 2015, a hundred people gathered to attend the 4th annual Invest in Success fundraiser held inside the student lounge located on the second floor of the Student Services Center. Emcee Steve Quis, an Emmy award-winning sportscaster and current Public Information Officer at Miramar College, guided the event’s activities, which included a silent auction, a short formal program, and a scholarship recipient testimonial video on the educational journey of Ex-Army combat medic Randy Dexter. “This is Miramar” promotional video also debuted. Brief comments were made by Foundation President Marty Hight and Miramar College President Patricia Hsieh. Major corporate donors and event sponsors were recognized with “big check” presentations – Wells Fargo Bank, Cal Coast Credit Union, AFT, and Hawthorne Machinery. The event generated close to $10,000 to be used by the Miramar College Foundation to provide scholarships to Miramar College students.
Invest In Success 2014
As the sun set on April 16, 2014, more than 100 guests gathered in the second floor lounge of the magnificent new Student Services Center to enjoy international cuisine catered by Encore Catering and equally international entertainment – Zimbeat, provided by the Center for World Music. Emcee Lee Ann Kim, Emmy award-winning news journalist and current Executive Director of Pacific Arts Movement, guided the event’s activities, which included a robust silent auction, a short formal program, and scholarship recipient testimonial video, expertly produced by the Miramar College Audio Visual Department. Brief comments were made by Foundation President Marty Hight, Miramar College President Patricia Hsieh and student Trinh Nguyen. Major corporate donors and event sponsors were recognized with “big check” presentations – Wells Fargo Bank, Union Bank, AFT, Hawthorne Machinery. Other event sponsor recognitions included San Diego Chinese Language School, The Hom Family Fund, Tom Hawthorne. Income generated from the 2014 Invest in Success and corporate donations celebrated at the event totaled $43,032.

Sponsors, donors and guests gathered on April 24, 2013 on the San Diego Miramar College campus in the magnificent, new Library Learning Resource Center patio to enjoy international cuisine; elaborate refreshments by Encore Catering; exciting international entertainment, including a traditional Chinese Lion Dance, performed by Three Treasures Cultural Arts Society; Mariachi Divinas; DJ/emcee/musican extraordinaire Greg Shibley; student art exhibit, and a robust silent auction. Event sponsors included Wells Fargo Bank, Union Bank, Gafcon, AFT, Swinerton Builders, Charles E. Schwab Bank, San Diego Chinese Language School, SDCCD Military Education, and Marlene Imirzian & Associates Architects.
