Excitement is in the air! Get ready for Jets Give: Generosity Takes Flight, our first-ever Day of Giving in support of theMiramar College Foundation.
On Wednesday, November 19, we’ll all come together for 24 hours of generosity to make a lasting impact and help our Jets reach new heights. But we can’t do it without you – so we’re “sweetening” the deal with a campus-wide Afternoon Sweet Break!
Every dollar raised through employee payroll deduction directly impacts the lives of our students here at Miramar College by:
- Providing critical basic needs support for students and their families so they can focus on achieving the dreams
- Funding scholarships that can mean the difference between a student enrolling in college and completing a degree or certificate
- Honoring the legacies of our beloved former Jets, Lonnie Pham, Sam Shooshtary, and Wayne Sherman, among others, through namesake scholarships that empower the next generation
- Fueling student engagement and recognition activities that build community, foster college pride, celebrate achievements, and inspire lifelong friendships and success
DOUBLE THE IMPACT
In honor of our inaugural Jets Give Day, an anonymous donor will match all gifts up to a total of $10,000. The match will be applied to all new and increased payroll deduction donations through the November 2026 payroll period. All one-time donations made during Jets Give will also be matched. With your help, we can unlock this incredible matching opportunity so more students in need can reach their educational dreams at Miramar College.
CAMPUS TREATS
We will be holding a campus-wide Afternoon Sweet Break on November 19, starting at 2:00 (while supplies last). Stop by Compass Point to enjoy churros and a sweet and savory build-your-own popcorn bar. Everyone is welcome!
You will also have an opportunity to bid on several exciting silent auction items as another way to support the Miramar College Foundation. You will find lots of great holiday gift ideas (or treat yourself)!
