The Board of Directors of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC), has selected Miramar College English and ELAC Professor Stefanie Shipman as a member of the AAWCC Under 40 Class of 2025. Each year, AAWCC honors rising leaders who are making meaningful contributions to their colleges and the communities they serve.
This recognition celebrates the youngest community college women who are truly movers and shakers across the nation. Shipman was recognized during the 2025 AAWCC Virtual Annual Conference on Nov. 7, 2025.
In addition, a special handcrafted necklace bearing the Under 40 insignia was presented by Dr. Scheherazade W. Forman, AAWCC Executive Director.
