Dr. Jeffrey Orgera Named Dean of Academic Services

Dr. Jeffrey Orgera has been named Dean of Academic Services. He begins his position June 2. 

Dean Orgera will have oversight of the School of Academic Services, which includes Library and Tutoring Services, High School programs, Marine Corps Air Station, Personal Growth, Honors, International Education, and Online Learning & Technology.

Dr. Orgera's experience reflects our commitment to Miramar 2.0 with his extensive background in advancing student success and equitable outcomes. 

In his former positions, his work has been centered in serving students, designing and delivering academic success services, and engaging a campus community, which aligns with the "heart" work and the "why" of the Miramar College mission. Dr. Orgera strives to be a visible leader who always advocates for all students, especially underrepresented, and designs structures that help them connect, progress, and feel a sense of belonging and purpose. He is a proponent of exploring opportunities and collaborating with colleagues.

Dean Orgera started his career in the community college system as an academic advisor and adjunct faculty teaching Psychology. He pursued degrees in Educational Psychology and Higher Education Administration—a great combination to build a foundation, scaffold, and integrate teaching and learning.
