This year the Cal Coast Cares Foundation is providing more than $60,000 in scholarships to foster students in San Diego and Riverside Counties to help them pursue their dreams of obtaining a college education! The California Coast Credit Union was founded in 1929 by local educators, and the non-profit Cal Coast Cares Foundation was created in 2015 to continue their legacy by supporting the local education community, including student scholarships and educator grants.
For Foster/Former Foster Youth – This scholarship award program is to support students who are in or have been in the foster care program in San Diego or Riverside Counties. Scholarship recipients receive:
- $2,000 toward their educational needs
- tuition, books, related fees, and technology for educational purposes
- AND they’re eligible for an additional $2,000 the following year.
