Hundreds of San Diego Unified School District students will make their way to San Diego Miramar College on Feb. 9 and Feb. 13 for the return of the College’s Discover Your Drive and Discover Your Passion events. These two events will help introduce current high school students to the Career Training Education classes offered at the two-year community college.
Discover Your Drive, which will take place from 10am-2:20pm on Thursday, Feb. 9, will focus on three areas of study: Auto, Aviation and Diesel. Students will be able to learn about the aforementioned career programs through hands on demonstrations. Students can also meet with faculty and outreach members.
“We’re very excited to bring this series of events back after the pandemic,” said Claudia Estrada-Howell, associate dean for Career Education at San Diego Miramar College. “The intent of the Miramar College "Discover Series" event(s) is to strengthen the College’s K-14 CTE pathways by exposing students to the college’s Career Training Education.”
Miramar College will also host a Discover Your Passion event on Monday, Feb. 13. Students will be able to learn about the College’s Business & Entrepreneurship, Paralegal and Child Development programs. Discover Your Passion runs from 10am-2:20pm.
