Commencement Ceremony Set For May 20

For the first time since 2019, a traditional graduation ceremony returns to the Miramar College campus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the previous two commencement ceremonies have been held remotely, with an additional drive through car-mencement ceremony held in 2021. This year’s ceremony will take place Friday, May 20 at 10:00am on Compass Point.

Check-in for graduates begins at 8:00am in K1-107 located in the Student Services Building. Check-in ends at 9:30am. At that time, students will begin lining up for the procession.

Guests are limited to four per student and seating for guests will be on a first-come first-serve basis with seating beginning at 8:45am. For the health and safety of all, it is recommended that students and guests be vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test the morning of the ceremony.

Face masks are required for students and guests in attendance. Guests and students are asked to park in lot's 1 & 2 located off of Black Mountain Parkway.

The commencement ceremony will be live streamed here:

For the 2021-2022 academic year, Miramar College will confer 1,373 degrees and another 751 Certificate of Achievements for a total of 2,124 awards.

More than 300 students have register to attend the ceremony to hear their names called.

Edward Borek, president of the Miramar College Associated Student Government will be the student speaker.

“I am beyond thrilled to return this very important ceremony back to in-person,” said Dr. Wesley Lundburg, president of San Diego Miramar College. “Our students and their families have endured constant change over the past 2-plus years and I am excited we can return to a bit of normalcy.”
