Miramar College to Host Virtual Commencement Ceremony May 28

For the second consecutive year, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced San Diego Miramar College to hold a virtual commencement ceremony. This year’s ceremony will celebrate the accomplishments of 1,482 graduates.

The virtual ceremony will begin at 1pm (PST) on Friday, May 28. A link to the ceremony will be live just before 1pm (PST) and can be found at http://www.sdmiramar.edu/commencement2021. Once you reach the commencement 2021 page, click on the yellow “Virtual Commencement” button to access the live feed. (Please note that using Goggle Chrome to access this link will provide the highest quality viewing of the ceremony). You will also find a copy of this year’s commencement program at this link. This program can be saved as a downloadable PDF so students can print it or share it with family and friends.

This May, Miramar College will confer 1,549 associate degrees. Included in that total is 817 students who will be graduating with an Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT). Another 596 certificates of achievement will be awarded. In all, 1,482 graduates will receive 2,145 awards.

“Once again, in these unprecedented times, we are extremely proud of each and every one of our students who stayed the course and completed their degree programs under another year of challenging circumstances,” said Wesley Lundburg, president of San Diego Miramar College. “I can’t begin to express how much I admire the perseverance of each graduate.”

Miramar College recently celebrated its graduates by hosting a Graduation Car Parade on campus May 21. Nearly 160 students took part. A video recap of that ceremony can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4vHeDHsIlU

The College expects nearly 400 students to participate in this year’s virtual commencement ceremony.
