The term ‘Undocu-Ally' refers to any person who is an ally to the undocumented, DACA-mented, immigrant, and refugee communities. Undocu-Allies create safe, affirming spaces for undocumented students and advocate for the advancement of policies to support this special population of learners.
We offer several versions of Undocu-Ally Training (UAT) that differ in their focus including two foundational sessions, UAT 1 & 2; UAT: Technical; and in collaboration with our legal aid partners UAT: Learning the Legalese. Detailed session descriptions and available dates are listed on the UAT Interest Form.

UAT: Technical
Designed with our student services professionals in mind but open to all, you will learn more about policies, procedures, and best practices for supporting undocumented students. Topics include residency requirements, financial aid eligibility, access to public assistance programs, undocu-friendly transfer guidance, and employment eligibility.

UAT: Learning the Legalese
Laws related to immigration and undocumented individuals can change wildly and often with little notice. Federal litigation in these matters can create many grey areas that cause ambiguity when supporting undocumented students. The Miramar Dreamers staff and our partners at the Higher Education Legal Services are your resource for understanding these complexities.
