District-Wide Software Licenses
There are many resource available for faculty and staff provided by the district. Examples include Microsoft Office and various Adobe products. Unfortunately, there is not a single source of information about these products, so it can be a bit of a mystery. District IT is aware of this need and will hopefully be providing a central resource page in the future. In the meantime, this page will serve as a source of the information we have available to us.
Partial information is currently available on the District website, on the Information Technology pages. Please check this page often, as it should be the central, authoritative resource for District-wide software licenses available for faculty and staff. This page will contain supplemental information for the most commonly requested items.
Microsoft Office/Office 365
All faculty, staff and students have access, via their SDCCD login credentials (your SDCCD email login) to Office 365 online (the web applications). Contract faculty & Staff have access to the installable application as well. Please review the District pages on Office 365 for more information. A number of training videos from the Vision Resource Center on Microsoft Office are listed on the District website as well. More information on the Vision Resource Center can be found on the Professional Learning Hub page.
Adobe Acrobat
Acrobat reader is, as always, free to download and install. Your office PC should already have this as part of its standard software load. If you need to create basic PDF's, one option is to simply create the document in Word and then save as a PDF. Many applications have the ability to save documents as a PDF. Additionally, you can always choose to print a document as a PDF by selecting the appropriate option from the print dialog (Select printer, chose "Print to PDF" or similar).
If you need to create more complex Adobe documents, such as fillable or signable forms, you will need the full version of Adobe Acrobat. To request this, visit the SDCCD Help Desk. You will need to login (select "Login" in the upper right) with your District email credentials. Then select the Request Services button. You will see a plethora of options, one of which is Adobe Creative Cloud License Request. Fill in the information and submit your request.
