Online Safety Training:
Most safety training is done through Keenan Safe College Training online. These safety trainings include the following but not limited to:
- Fire Extinguishers Training
- Gas Cylinders
- Driver Defensive Training
- Hazardous Communication (Right to Understand (GHS))
- Blood Borne Pathogen Training
- Safety Data Sheet
Respirator Mask Fit Test
All employees who need to wear a respirator mask are required to be fitted for one by a health professional. The district has a program setup already. Please contact the OEHS Coordinator for more information. Respirator masks are commonly used in cleaning ceramic labs due to silica dust, in the chemistry department for handling hazardous chemicals, and in the aviation department when spraying certain solvents. In addition, the police and fire academy also require staff and students to wear respirator masks in their training programs.
On-Campus Safety Training
Throughout the academy term there are several opportunities for faculty and staff to participate in emergency and hazardous safety training. These training are organized by the OEHS Coordinator coordinating with Campus Police, the Fire Academy, and various campus departments.
