What is the NextUp program?
Our goal at Miramar College's NextUp program is to provides wrap-around services to our current and former foster youth students, helping them achieve their educational/career goals. Our program focuses on academic, financial, and holistic well-being support through various benefits, counseling support, and workshops/events!
To be eligible, students must:
- Be a current or former foster youth whose dependency or wardship was established or continued by the court on, or after the youth’s 13th birthday (dependency ward/of the court letter may be required).
- Under the age of 26 at the beginning of the academic year, or a previous NextUp student at another community college.
- Enrolled in at least nine 1 unit with plans to add 9 units for subsequent semesters.
- Have your financial aid established at Miramar College.
