POST Academy Application

The POST Academy application is a multiple step process that open enrollees are required to complete before the posted deadline of the recruiting period.  Please check the academy dates and the application recruitment period.

1.  Apply to San Diego Miramar College

 

Sign in or Create an OpenCCC account and Start a New Application

  • Apply to San Diego Miramar College by completing and submitting an application.

           Tip:  Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox internet browsers are recommended for best compatibility.

  • Skip the “ID.me” step by clicking on “Verify Later” towards the bottom of the screen (if the option to skip is available)
  • Select the following options per corresponding field:

               Term                             Spring 2025

               Educational Goal               Earn a career technical certificate without transfer

               Major Category                    All Majors

                   Program of Study             Law Enforcement

  • Verify your application was submitted by checking the “My Applications” tab. Your application should be listed under the Submitted Applications section.
  • Check your email (and spam folder) for the “Welcome to mySDCCD” invitation sent from studentsrvcs@sdccd.edu to retrieve your 10-digit User ID/Student ID# and access the portal.  

 If you do not receive your User ID and welcome email and User ID and invitation to the mySDCCD portal within 2 hours, please submit a help desk ticket

       

2.  Login to my SDCCD

 

Log into your mySDCCD or follow the account creation instructions for first time users.

If you are unable to verify your identity, please submit a help desk ticket.

 

3.  Complete SDRPSTI Application

 

Complete a San Diego Regional Public Safety Training Institute Application.

          Physical signatures (not typed) are required and dates must be within application period.

          Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted. 

 

4.  Email Application & Supporting Documentation

        The following must be submitted as ONE PDF document (<14 MB):

  • Completed and signed SDRPSTI application, and
  • Copy of valid California Class C driver’s license or current military ID and out-of-state valid driver’s license

        Email single PDF and SDCCD Student/User ID (within the body of email) to:

           MiramarAdmissionsPublicSafety@sdccd.edu

Applications will only be accepted during the application period posted.
