BREAKING NEWS!
House Democrats introduced The American Dream and Promise Act 2021<https://thehill.com/latino/541546-house-democrats-introduce-bill-providing-citizenship-to-dreamers>. This bill would allow Dreamers and those given temporary status (TPS) who fled unrest in their home country among others to apply for citizenship. If enacted into law, this bill would provide a path to citizenship for 2.5 million people.
If you are in the United States on a Temporary Protection Status (TPS) your benefits may have been extended through October 4, 2021. If you have questions about your status, you should reach out to the Dreamers Resource Center, and we can help you find answers.
Biden Administration agrees to end all SCOTUS appeals of the Public Charge Rule<https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/542366-supreme-court-agrees-to-dismiss-challenge-to-trump-public-charge-rule>. The Public Charge Rule was created during the Trump administration to limit the ability of low-income immigrants to seek green cards. This is a step toward ending rescinding such proposed legislation.
What’s next? These legislative battles won’t be easy wins, so continue to know your rights, advocate for your peers, contact your representatives<https://www.rockthevote.org/get-involved/contact-your-elected-officials/>, and keep dreaming!
