Why did you choose Miramar?
I heard they hosted the best Diesel Technology courses in San Diego, and I truly believe it is the best, now that I have attended for over a year.
How has Miramar helped you on your educational journey?
Miramar College has so many scholarships, grants, and additional help to students who need it. Personally, I have received over $12,000 in scholarships since I enrolled in February 2023. The instructors in my program and the staff in the K building have helped walk me through many processes. I had no idea how to do many things on campus so, finding friendly staff has been a huge blessing.
What is your favorite memory from your time at Miramar?
The skills club was able to attend one of the club events on campus, where we hosted water games and we brought out one of our Diesel trucks. No one knew that we had transmission problems on the vehicle we brought out, so we fixed it on the spot and moved it just as the event was ending.
Would you have any advice for new students?
My advice to all of my fellow students is to ask questions and apply to scholarships. The worst they can say is no.
