Miramar offers a wide array of programs. Yet, there is typically little guidance to help new students choose a program of study and develop a plan for completing it. Most students do not have a clear idea of what opportunities are available to them and until they have a clearer picture, their academic educational plan is meaningless.

STUDENT-
- Complete assessment process for Math and English
- If applicable- satisfy transcript evaluation process
- Initiate interactions with support services on campus including financial aid, career center, transfer center, veterans office, EOPS, DSPS
- Identify a major or meta-major
- Schedule a 1 hour counseling appointment for a full program educational plan

- Use multiple measures to assess students placement levels
- Use multiple measures to assess support service available to help meet students needs
- Provide opportunities for students to be introduced to various support services available on campus and in the community
- Provide access to the development and revision of student educational plans
