I've been working as a software engineer non-stop since my freshman year in college, back in 1999. I was fortunate to ride the explosion of the internet in the 2000s and the explosion of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the 2010s. I wrapped up my undergrad and finished my masters, part time, while working full time. I've been through 3 successful startups, so I know the hard work ethic required for fundraising, acquisitions, and mergers. Life slowed down after getting married and having 3 kids, so I stuck around the last acquisition for a 9-5 job rather than switching to another startup. I'm a lifelong learner and I'm always in school. I spent the recent decade fulfilling my childhood dream in aviation, getting my mechanic and pilot licenses here at Miramar College. I discovered a passion for teaching while training to be a flight instructor and decided that software is much less risky to teach, and I have much more to offer in this field. I'm here for you, so please don't hesitate to reach out for anything. I’ve been interviewer and interviewee for countless software jobs, so I know what the industry is looking for and tailored my courses towards it. I'd love to advise any students who have ideas for coding projects and startups.
