Miramar College Hosts Scholarship Awards Ceremony April 30

Miramar College will award 155 deserving students just over $139,000 in scholarship aid at its 32nd annual scholarship awards ceremony held April 30 from 5:00pm-7:00pm in front of the LLRC Building. Miramar College students, their guests and families, along with the College’s classified professional staff and faculty, San Diego Community College District officials and community partners will gather for the early evening celebration.

Forty-eight scholarships will be awarded to 155 students totaling $139,5326.

In addition, external donors will award scholarship aid.

“Our annual scholarship event reflects the power of generosity and partnership,” said Dr. Wesley Lundburg, president of Miramar College. “Each year, we proudly celebrate outstanding students who have been awarded scholarships made possible by foundations, organizations, and individuals who believe deeply in the promise of education.”

The Scholarship Awards Ceremony is one of the signature traditions of Miramar College and the Miramar College Foundation. Each year, dedicated college, community, and industry leaders invest their time, talent, and resources to ensure that deserving students are recognized and supported.

The Miramar College Foundation, a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, was officially created on August 21, 1994 and is committed to supporting the diverse population of Miramar College students by raising scholarship funds.

The annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony is organized by the College’s Financial Aid and Scholarship Office with the support of the college’s Director of Development and Entrepreneurship Lisa Cole-Jones.
