Lisa Cole-Jones joins Miramar College as Director of Development and Entrepreneurship. Lisa joins the College in a new position created by the District to bring parity across the colleges and to bolster our philanthropy/fundraising efforts. Lisa will be working closely with administration and the Foundation, but will also be on a “Learning Tour” at the college to learn of needs and potential opportunities to put before philanthropists.
Lisa brings over a decade of fundraising experience to Miramar College. She initially joined the San Diego Community College District in 2017 to facilitate fundraising in support of the San Diego Promise. In that role, Lisa implemented an annual fundraising plan that included diverse fundraising activities, such as monthly and payroll giving, major gifts, grant writing, planned gifts, and major events, all of which led to more than $2.6 million in philanthropic giving.
Prior to joining the District, Lisa served as the Associate Director of Development at the National Conflict Resolution Center. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Arizona State University, a Master of Social Work from San Diego State University, and a Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law. Additionally, in 2022, Lisa earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive designation by demonstrating mastery of fundraising best practices, ethics, and service to the philanthropic sector.
