Miramar College to Host Science Olympiad March 4

San Diego Miramar College will host the San Diego Regional Science Olympiad on March 4, 2023. The event is expected to bring over one-thousand San Diego area middle school and high school students to compete in events across the campus. 

“The Science Olympiad instills greater public awareness of the importance of science in our everyday lives and the roles that scientists play in our community,” said Dr. Rebecca Bowers-Gentry, assistant chair of the Biology department at Miramar College.

Science Olympiad is a nationwide competition. Students compete in 23 events that include earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Science Olympiad is designed to increase a student’s interest in STEM fields and provide recognition for outstanding achievement in team events. Students compete in Science Olympiad with the top teams advancing from Regional to State to National levels.
