Miramar College Returns to In-Person Operations February 22

As public health conditions continue to improve in San Diego County, San Diego Miramar College and the San Diego Community College district will proceed with the return to in-person instruction and operations on Tuesday, February 22. This means classes scheduled for in-person instruction in the spring semester, which started online due to the COVID-19 case rates at the start of the semester, will proceed in-person. Employees working remotely will return to in-person work assignments three days per week for the weeks of February 22–25 and February 28–March 4 and full-time beginning Monday, March 7.

While COVID-19 case rates in our region continue to improve and the California Department of Public Health has rescinded the statewide face covering order, Miramar College will continue to require all individuals to wear an acceptable face covering in all campus and SDCCD facilities and activities. Face coverings may be removed while individuals are outdoors and physically distanced, while individuals are eating or drinking, and while individuals are alone in their workspace and physically distanced. You can review the District’s COVID-19 Prevention Plan here.

All employees are encouraged to self-isolate and be tested if you are experiencing COVID symptoms and/or believe you have had close contact with someone who has tested positive. We appreciate everyone’s continued cooperation as we work together to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our communities, especially for our community members at greatest risk of serious illness.

Student Services will be open Monday-Thursday with counter service 9:00am-4:00pm. All student services will be fully remote on Fridays. Limited food service is available. Please follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as we will routinely post updates hours of operation.

Spring 2022 Mask Requirements

On Tuesday, February 15, the California Department of Public Health order requiring all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear face coverings while indoors in public spaces will expire. This will not change District policy, which requires all individuals to wear an acceptable face covering while indoors and while outdoors on campus and within six feet of others.

Fall 2022 Vaccine Requirements

To better protect our campus communities and allow for continued in-person learning and services, San Diego City, Mesa and Miramar Colleges and College of Continuing Education are requiring students to receive a COVID-19 booster effective Fall 2022 semester for in-person instruction. Students must provide booster documentation by Friday, August 12th or they will be dropped from their in-person class.

· Students who were fully vaccinated either with a two-dose regimen (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna) more than five months ago or a one-dose regimen (e.g. Johnson & Johnson) more than two months ago are now eligible for a booster. Students should get their booster shot as soon as possible.

· Those who are still within the five-or two-month windows (depending on vaccine type) should make plans to receive a booster as soon as they are eligible.

· Students may upload their updated vaccination card with booster documentation to Cleared4.

If you already received the booster and uploaded your documentation no further action is required.
