Miramar College Students Dominate this Year’s SD Startup Month Pitch Competition

On October 14, 2021, the REC Innovation Lab at Miramar College partnered with San Diego State University, Tech Coast Angels San Diego, and Connect All at the Jacob Center,  to host the San Diego Startup Month Pitch Competition and Tournament.

The competition received hundreds of applications throughout San Diego. Only twelve aspiring, pre-seed, student founders were selected as finalists to participate in the competition. Of those twelve, seven of the finalists came from San Diego Miramar College’s  REC Innovation Lab!

They each pitched their business ideas through three virgous rounds of judging to win a $10,000 cash prize, a Founders Institute Fellowship, a complimentary mentor session with LogicBoost Labs, and Startup San Diego promotion and press. After each round, only a select few founders advanced, while the rest were eliminated.

We are so proud to have so many of our founders from San Diego Miramar College represented at the competition. Just being chosen as a finalist was such an honor. It is such a win for these student founders!   San Diego Startup Month is the quintessential event in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Congratulations to San Diego Miramar College students for being chosen for this amazing event! A special shout out the following Startups and their founders:
