Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the San Diego Community College District's highest priority has continued to be the health and safety of its employees and students. In recognition of the current spike in cases largely due to the Omicron variant, the San Diego Community College District has decided to have most District employees work remotely for the first two weeks of January.
As a result, Miramar College will temporarily close its campus and move both instruction and student services to remote delivery during the first two weeks of January, beginning Monday, January 3, 2022 through Monday, January 17, 2022. We expect to reopen for in-person services on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
The exception to this closure and move to remote delivery will be athletics and Intersession classes that were scheduled to be held in-person. All athletic program activities will continue as scheduled and our athletic teams will be subject to weekly testing. Both athletics and instruction will follow their currently adopted COVID-19 protocols.
All Student Services offices, including Student Health, will provide remote services throughout this period. Most will offer remote services Monday - Thursday between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm and Friday between 8:00am - 1:00pm. Students are advised to refer to specific department web pages for any additional updates. Also check your email and Canvas messages in your portal for additional information.
Food services will be closed during this period. The SDCCD Police office will be working remotely, however they will continue to respond to emergency calls through their dispatch services.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may create and appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we do our best to assist with limiting the spread of the virus.
